Strasser Law Corp’s founder and managing partner, Laura Strasser, has worked in the legal field for over 37 years starting her career as a paralegal, which gave her the foundation and motivation to become a well-rounded attorney. After graduating top of her class at Lincoln Law School of Sacramento, she founded Legal Concepts, a business known for providing exceptional legal research and writing on complex legal issues for law firms practicing in the Sacramento region. She also used her skills to teach legal courses to paralegals at MTI College, including Advanced Civil Litigation, Employment Law, Personal Injury, Family Law and other general litigation courses. In 2009, she embarked on the formation of Strasser Law Corporation focusing mostly on divorce, asset/debt division, custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, modification of orders, and restraining orders. In 2013, 2015 and 2017 Laura was voted the “Best of the Best” Attorney by Auburn Journal readers. She also recently earned the title of “Lawyer of Distinction” five years in a row. She has served on many boards in the community including as President for Placer County Bar Association, Chair for Placer County’s Family Law Executive Committee, officer for Stand Up Placer, and officer for Sacramento Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), to name a few.
Laura is known for her past involvement with high profile cases, including those against former California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenneger, to protect the rights of families victimized by crime. She is a fierce advocate for what is right and protecting those who aren’t able to protect themselves, and she brings those skills to the table now as a family law litigator. Laura also recognizes that not all cases need to be litigated. A divorce or other family matter can be complicated, it can be stressful, and it can rattle a family. Sometimes parties just need someone to help them navigate through the process or to facilitate settlement of issues without involving the court. Laura can help in that capacity too. She is a certified collaborative divorce attorney and a certified family law mediator where the focus is not on litigation but instead on aiding negotiations, resolution, and settlements.
